Four colleges offer 7 associate degrees, 41 undergraduate, and 12 graduate degrees to the currently enrolled 5,800-plus students.

The beautiful campus has 6 lakes and inspires the campus colors of “Laker” blue and Georgia clay. The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and was founded in 1969.


Clayton State competes
in the NCAA Division II.

Men’s and Women’s: Basketball, Cross Country, Soccer, Track & Field, (Men’s Golf), Cheerleading, and Tennis
In the last three decades, Clayton State Athletics has reached a national postseason championship total of 143 times (135 during the NCAA era) among 12 sports. Every program has had at least three appearances, with men's and women's cross country delivering 29 appearances. They are followed by men's golf with 16, women's basketball (15), men's indoor/outdoor track & field (15), women's tennis (13), women's indoor/outdoor track & field (13), men's soccer (7), men's basketball (4) and women's soccer (3).
